Poultry Production

National Certificate

NQF LEVEL 2

Credits: 133

SAQA ID: 49582

Building on the foundational skills introduced at NQF Level 1, the Poultry Production qualification at Level 2 develops a more capable and independently operating poultry production worker — one who takes personal responsibility for their work quality, applies good production practices with consistency, and begins to develop the technical understanding that supports progression into supervisory roles.

At this level, you will deepen your competence in the core areas of poultry production: feed and water management, disease prevention and biosecurity protocols, mortality management and record keeping, environmental control in production houses, and the handling and grading of poultry products. You will also develop a more thorough understanding of the biological and nutritional needs of poultry at different production stages, enabling you to identify problems early and apply appropriate responses.

WHY ACS ACADEMY?

ACS Academy's delivery of this qualification is grounded in the practical realities of the South African poultry sector — a highly competitive and technically demanding industry that requires its workforce to maintain strict production and welfare standards at all times. Our facilitators understand these demands and ensure learners are equipped to meet them in genuine production environments. The qualification is registered with SAQA, aligned with the AGRISETA learnership framework, and eligible for Skills Development Levy funding. Recognition of Prior Learning is available for experienced poultry workers who have developed their skills through practical experience and want formal recognition.

“

Completing Poultry Production at NQF Level 2 positions learners to progress toward the next NQF Level in related fields. ACS Academy provides the learning pathway, the expert facilitation, and the ongoing support to make that progression possible.
